Insurance matters

VISE is a nationally incorporated body that carries accident and public liability insurance. However, no insurance company will cover 100% of costs.

Volunteers should ensure they have appropriate national ambulance cover. National cover is important as ambulances at state level do not necessarily recognise one another. (The Flying Doctor

recognises all ambulance cover but will only take a patient to the nearest suitable hospital.)

Remember that you will need to check your own House and Contents Policy if you are to

be absent from home for an extended period.
